Nightfall Frames — Obsidian · Coven · Grimoire · Ember

Four dark-fantasy card frame families, modelled and rendered in Blender. Not drawn over, not filtered — built as geometry, lit, and rendered in Cycles.

Obsidian — knapped volcanic glass in blackened silver. A gabled shard blank with double-cut corners, a faceted rail, struck tally marks and step-cut stones.

Coven — bone bound with waxed cord. A hand-cut edge that chips all the way round, corner lashings, a thorned opening and a poured wax seal.

Grimoire — hide over boards with brass furniture. A closed tome: square at the spine, rounded at the fore-edge, saddle-stitched, with a page block and a ribbon.

Ember — forge iron, split and still hot. A clipped plate with riveted corners and molten channels that light from the inside when the card is selected.

What you get

• Both orientations — 750 × 1050 portrait and 1050 × 750 landscape, each rendered separately, not stretched
• 4 baked states — normal, hover, selected, disabled. The selected state is its own render plus the family’s own light, supplied as an additive sprite
• 3 sizes — @2x, @1x, @0.5x, in PNG and WebP
• Metal masks per family and kind, for a sheen sweep in CSS or a shader
• Drop shadows — resting and lifted, with the card knocked out
• Zone guides — frames.json gives you the art window, name, type line, rules box and stat fields for every family and kind, in both orientations, with the same zones drawn as SVG
• Colour and motion tokens per family, as JSON
• Cinzel + EB Garamond (SIL OFL) and a reference renderer — about a hundred lines of JavaScript that draws a finished card from the guides alone

Made to mix

All four families share one layout grammar and one pixel size. The art window, the name tab, the rules panel and the stat sockets sit in the same places, and the guides tell you where each family moved them — so a deck can run all four without re-measuring anything.

Please note

This is a frame pack, not an art pack. Every frame’s art window is transparent — that is the checkerboard you can see through the cards in the screenshots — so you drop your own illustration behind it.
