Stylized Combat & Pickup VFX — 24 Unity URP Effects

Stylized Combat & Pickup VFX adds readable hits, rewards and magic feedback to your Unity game with 24 editable URP effects. The shapes erode from their edges with a darker cartoon rim instead of just fading, so they stay crisp at gameplay size.

Every effect is a normal Unity Particle System prefab: no VFX Graph, no extra packages. Drag one into the scene, or call StylizedVfx.Spawn(prefab, position, rotation, parent, scale) and set tint and durationScale to recolour and retime it.

• Impacts: HitSpark, HeavyHit, SlashHit, CriticalHit, GroundSlam, MagicHit
• Movement & Dust: DustPuff, FootstepPuff, JumpDust, LandingDust, DashBurst, RunDust (loop)
• Pickups & Rewards: PickupBurst, CoinBurst, StarCollect, LevelUp, LootGlow (loop), ConfettiPop
• Magic, Heal & Shield: HealPulse, HealAura (loop), ShieldBubble (loop), ShieldBreak, BuffUp, SpellCast

What you get

• 24 effect prefabs (20 one-shots, 4 loops), 2–6 layers each, one material per layer
• 17 grayscale texture masks (32–512 px)
• One commented unlit URP shader: edge softness, hot core, shading, cartoon rim, additive or alpha blend
• StylizedVfx component: clean replay, stop, colour tint, duration scale, self-destroying one-shots
• A demo scene: a button per effect, a gallery of all 24, light and dark backdrop, a scale dummy and auto-cycle
• Documentation (README + quick start) and EditMode tests

Requirements

Unity 6000.0 or newer with the Universal Render Pipeline 17 (Built-in and HDRP are not supported). The download is a .unitypackage (0.76 MB, single root folder Assets/Bomy99/StylizedVFX).

The screenshots are real Unity URP renders of the included prefabs. Only the labels and the title were added.

Licence

Use the effects in any number of your own games and projects, commercial ones included. You may not resell or redistribute the assets themselves.

How it's made: the textures are procedural and the effects are Unity Particle Systems built from written recipes; no image-generation model produced any pixel. The build scripts and C# code were written with the help of an AI coding assistant.
